Red Wings Sign Two New Players for Next Year

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings announced a couple of recent signings of players for the 2020-21 season.

The Red Wings signed ’01-born forward Mathew Rathbone for the 2020/21 season. 

From Spruce Grove, Alta., Rathbone spent this past season playing for the Edson Aeros of the WSHL.

In 44 games played with the Aeros, Rathbone put up 36 goals and 48 assists.

Earlier this spring, the Red Wings signed ’02-born forward Ethan Whillans for the 2020/21 season.

From Manning, Alta., Whillans spent this past season playing for the Midget AAA Fort Saskatchewan Rangers. He was also called up twice this past season to play for the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL.

In 32 games played with the Rangers, Whillans put up seven goals and four assists.
