Red Wings Acquire Goaltender Arik Weersink

The Weyburn Red Wings are proud to announce the acquisition of 97 Goaltender Arik Weersink from the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL.

The 6’4″ 195 lb Weersink appeared in 70 games over the past two seasons with the Storm. Last season Arik appeared in 42 regular season games, posting a 3.63 GAA while winning 13 of his team’s 15 games.

Prior to his time with Grande Prairie Weersink suited up for the Lethbridge Midget AAA Hurricanes of the Alberta Major Midget Hockey League and led the league with a 1.90 Goals Against Average and tied for the league lead with three shutouts.

Arik was awarded the Bill Ranford Award as the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League’s top goaltender. He was also selected as an AMHL first team all-star.
