Red Wings sign Derick Smith.

98 C/LW Derick Smith is a 6’3” 185lb forward from Dexter, Michigan. He split the 2016/2017 season between the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL and the Comox Valley Glacier Kings of the VIJHL. Derick scored 26 goals and 35 assists for 61 points and 40 pims in 33 games played. Smith led the VIJHL in points per game. Derick is a lanky, skilled forward who can produce offensively and should help fill the void left by the graduation of many offensive players last season.
