Red Wings Acquire Burke Johnstone

The Weyburn Red Wings are proud to announce the acquisition of 98 FW/D Burke Johnstone. Burke split last season with the Notre Dame Hounds and Dryden Ice Dogs, where he won the League Championship and competed in the Dudley Hewitt Cup. Johnstone was an Assistant Captain with the Notre Dame Hounds. Prior to his time with the Jr A Hounds, he was the Captain of the Midget AAA Hounds who won the Sask Midget AAA Championship in 2015/2016.

The 6’2 205lb Johnstone calls Yellow Grass home and can play both forward and defense. Last season Burke produced 1 goal and 18 assists, for 19 points and 53 pims in 60 Jr A games played. The Wings’ are thrilled to add such a versatile player to their roster. Johnstone is a great leader and a proven winner. Welcome home Burke!
