The Weyburn Red Wings are proud to announce the signing of 2001 Defenseman Mkyllan Couture from Pilot Butte, Sk. Mkyllan is the Wings’ 2016 1st Round Draft Pick. He played the past two seasons with the Swift Current Legionnaires Midget AAA.
The 6’2″,180 lb right shot defenseman produced 6 goals and 14 assists for 20 points and 26 pims in 33 Regular Season and Playoff Games last year. Couture also played one Regular Season game with the Wings last season. Mkyllan is a very good skater, with good hockey sense. He has offensive upside and a heavy point shot. He can play all situations and has a very bright future on the ice!
