AS GAME SPONSOR, SASKENERGY SHOWS THEIR SUPPORT OF KIDSPORT AND THE RED WINGS
The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, the SaskEnergy Network of independent retailers and contractors, and KidSport Saskatchewan are proud to collaborate on the Goals for KidSport program.
Since the Program was introduced in 2014, Goals for KidSport has raised more than $50,000 for Saskatchewan families, thanks to the support from SaskEnergy Network Member companies, community volunteers and fans of the SJHL. The funds that are raised are from the $20 donated per home goal scored as well as participating Chapters holding raffles during designated game nights and also from game night goal matching by SaskEnergy Network Members.
Congratulations to KidSport Weyburn, whose share of the Goals for KidSport program amounts to two thousand seven hundred and ten dollars for the 2015-2016 season.
VOLUNTEER CHAMPION AWARD PRESENTED TO GEORGE KERR AND HELEN & CURTIS STEPP
Congratulations George, Helen and Curtis!
On Saturday night, the SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Award was presented to three individuals nominated by the Red Wings for best demonstrating an excellence in volunteerism and community service.
George Kerr has been the main security for the visitors’ hockey teams since 1984, arriving early, before the game for warm ups and staying afterwards, waiting until the team departs. He also volunteers to help out with Red Wings functions.
Curtis & Helen Stepp have been involved with the organization for over 15 years, as former board members, as game day volunteers helping with game day production and recording game stats, and as event volunteers.
The Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy, Mark Schmidt, on behalf of SaskEnergy Network Member Quality Plumbing & Heating Ltd. and Michell Giroux on behalf of your Weyburn Red Wings are pleased to recognize George Kerr; Helen Stepp and Curtis Stepp for all of the time and energy that you have given to the Red Wings.
It is volunteers like you who truly keep programs and organizations running when times are tough. Saskatchewan has become known as a place where volunteerism is part of the culture – and you certainly play a part in that recognition.
Congratulations George, Helen and Curtis!
