Red Wings honor Volunteers

VOLUNTEER CHAMPION AWARD PRESENTED TO GEORGE KERR AND HELEN & CURTIS STEPP

Congratulations George, Helen and Curtis!

On Saturday night, the SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Award was presented to three individuals nominated by the Red Wings for best demonstrating an excellence in volunteerism and community service.

George Kerr has been the main security for the visitors’ hockey teams since 1984, arriving early, before the game for warm ups and staying afterwards, waiting until the team departs.  He also volunteers to help out with Red Wings functions.

Curtis & Helen Stepp have been involved with the organization for over 15 years, as former board members, as game day volunteers helping with game day production and recording game stats, and as event volunteers.

The Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy,  Mark Schmidt, on behalf of SaskEnergy Network Member Quality Plumbing & Heating Ltd. and Michell Giroux on behalf of your Weyburn Red Wings are pleased to recognize George Kerr; Helen Stepp and Curtis Stepp for all of the time and energy that you have given to the Red Wings.

It is volunteers like you who truly keep programs and organizations running when times are tough.  Saskatchewan has become known as a place where volunteerism is part of the culture – and you certainly play a part in that recognition.

A big THANK YOU for your support!  Congratulations George, Helen and Curtis!
