Player Committment

The Weyburn Red Wing’s are proud to announce that Team Captain Mike Eskra has committed to the University of Regina Cougars for the 2018/2019 Season. The Cougars play in the Canada West Conference of USports.

Mike Eskra played 192 career regular season games for the Wings posting 26 goals and 96 assists for 122 points and 339 pims. Eskra also produced 4 goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 28 playoff games.

Mike wore a letter in 3 of his 4 seasons with the team and was our Captain in both his 19 and 20 year old seasons. 2017/2018 was his best statistical season, posting 12 goals, 39 assists for 51 points and 100 pims in all 58 regular season games. Mike won Top Defenseman and MVP this past season.

Mike Eskra made significant contributions to our team and community on and off the ice. Thank you for your time in Weyburn! Congratulations Mike!
