Kyle McDonald Expands Role With Red Wings

The Weyburn Red Wings are happy to announce that Kyle McDonald has been hired as the Director of Performance.

This new role in our organization will work closely with all staff to help enhance our performance philosophy from drafting/recruiting to the present on ice product. The Director of Performance will help support our individual players in preparing to be their best version and support the organization as a whole to deliver a strong culture for all stakeholders and the community of Weyburn.

Kyle is currently a Mental Performance Consultant (MPC) with the Arizona Coyotes, Hockey Canada and Hockey Saskatchewan. He works with numerous organizations and individuals in their mentality and resiliency to enhance performance. Kyle continues to research high performance environments through his work at the University Regina. He is a High Performance Practitioner (HPC) through Sport Science Canada and is part of the managing council of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

Kyle currently resides in Regina with his wife and two kids and stated “I am honored to be appointed as the Director of Performance. I look forward to collaborating with our staff and athletes to help them prepare and manage the stressors of performance.”
