Ian Parker Commits to the University of Windsor

CONGRATULATIONS IAN!

The Weyburn Red Wings are proud to announce the commitment of graduating forward Ian Parker to the University Of Windsor Lancers, in Windsor Ontario. Ian will be studying at the Odette School of Business.

The Windsor Lancers play in the 20 team OUA Conference of CIS-U SPORTS, Canada’s highest level of collegiate hockey.

As a 20 year old assistant captain this season Ian tallied 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points and 44 PIMS in 58 games.

Parker played 171 Regular Season games for the Wings, accumulating 32 Goals and 51 Assists for a total of 83 points and 129 PIMS.  Ian led the Red Wings in 2016/2017 playoff scoring with  3 Goals and 5 Assists in 7 games. He totalled 11 points in 21 playoff games in his SJHL career.

Ian won the 2016/2017 Team’s Best Defensive Forward Award, Community Service Award, Marcel Labelle Memorial Award Red Wing Displaying Dedication, and a co-winner of the team’s MVP Award. Ian is now a proud graduate of our program, he will be missed on and off the ice. Congratulations Ian!

Ian is excited for the next step in his hockey career and education, and stated “I would like to thank they city of Weyburn, my billets,my teammates, Wes, Brock, Bryce, Tanner and my family for the continued support over the last 3 years.I am so happy to have called Weyburn my home for my Junior Hockey Career.”
