Weyburn Red Wings (12-8-0-1, 2nd Viterra) vs. Yorkton Terriers (5-10-3-0, 4th Viterra)

Crescent Point Place, Weyburn, SK

7:30 p.m.

The Weyburn Red Wings will be looking to get another winning streak on the go when they host the Yorkton Terriers tonight. This will be the second meeting between the teams this week, as they played a neutral site game against Yorkton Saturday. The game ended with a 6-3 victory from Weyburn, which snapped a three game losing skid for the Wings. The Terriers are still mired in a six game losing streak, and are still looking for their first road win of the year.

The Red Wings will look for continued strong performances against Yorkton from Jake Wozney, Donavon Lumb, Jeremy Lagler and Ian Parker. Devon Becker has also been integral in the three wins for the Wings over Yorkton this season.

The Terriers will need to find a way to solve Nathan Hargrave, who has been strong between the pipes for the Red Wings against Yorkton. Hargrave has posted three wins, with a GAA of 1.65, and a save percentage of .952. At the other end of the rink, Yorkton has had trouble finding a goalie who can hold off the Wings attack. Greg Maggio, who had the start Saturday, allowed five goals. His predecessor, Jakob Severson (who is no longer with the Terriers) allowed six over two games.

Weyburn will need a quick start to the game. On Saturday, Yorkton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, before the Red Wings were able to get on the board with four unanswered markers. The lack of scoring in the first has been a common theme all season for Weyburn. The Wings have been outscored 16-23 in the first period this season. While they have been getting goals in bunches in the middle frame all year, the luck will run out if they can’t generate more offense.

The puck will drop between the two Viterra Division rivals at 7:30 p.m. at Crescent Point Place.
