The Weyburn Red Wings fell behind early, and couldn’t rally back. They fell six-one to the Bruins in Estevan.
The Bruins took an early lead in the first period, scoring three goals in 31 seconds. They built up a six goal lead before Cade Kowalski ended the shutout in the third.
The Wings started off strong with Ben Hiltz scoring just 3:31 into the first period with the assists from Garret Szeremley and Cole Woodlife. However Estevan answered back just a few minutes later getting one past Arik Weersink. The Bruins would score again in the first but Mike Eskra closed out the 1st period with a goal at 19:35 assisted by Landon Walters to take the game into the second period tied at 2.
The second period was troublesome for the Wings as Estevan scored twice in the period – both on power play goals taking the game into the 3rd with the Bruins up by 2.
Mike Eskra opened the scoring in the 3rd with assists from Cade Kowalski and Ben Hiltz, but the Bruins answered back on another power play goal to take the game 5-3.
