Angelo was nominated for this award because of how important he is not just inside the game of hockey, but outside as well. Here’s what his billet dad, Chad Ror had to say about him:

“We don’t know what we would have done around here for the past 2 winters without having Zoly the Goalie as part of our family. He is a very polite and well-mannered kid and is always eager to help out around the house. This past winter, he came out numerous times to help with his billet brother’s hockey practices and he would come watch him play any chance that he got. Angelo tagged along to watch Beckett’s school Christmas concert and I think he might have even enjoyed it haha.
Since day one, Angelo has been very involved with his billet home and has become a big part of our community not only with his volunteer work but as well as taking on a part time job at Canadian Tire. Whether it’s after a big shutout win or a tough playoff loss, he always comes home with his positive attitude and always has time for his billet family.”

Angelo was also nominated within the organization for his commitment to the team on and off the ice:
“Angelo’s commitment to everything he does in Weyburn is admirable. That includes his willingness to give back in the community. He is everything we want a Red Wing to be and that shows in his on ice play and also in his involvement in schools, community programs and in his billet home.
