Red Wings season off to a winning start

WEYBURN RED WINGS TOOK ON YORKTON TERRIERS

Down the road to Yorkton on Friday night, the Weyburn Red Wings beat the Yorkton Terriers.  With the Terriers enjoying a 1-0 lead for most of the game, Carson Rose tied the game at the last possible moment to take them into overtime.  Playing 3-on-3 overtime this season, the Weyburn Red Wings’ Jacob Wozney scored the winning goal for this season’s first win.  For more details…

 

The Weyburn Red Wings repeated the win on Saturday night in front of the hometown crowd, beating the Yorkton Terriers.  The game started with the Terriers scoring the first goal of the night, but the Red Wings came back strong in the second period, with Carson Rose scoring the tying goal again.  This was followed by a goal from Parker, Woodliffe and Mellon to finish off the Terriers 4-1.   For more details …
