Carter Phair returning to the Wings

A familiar face is returning to Weyburn. The Kamloops Blazers of the WHL have re-assigned goaltender Carter Phair to the Red Wings. Phair started the season with the Blazers, after being traded by there by the Edmonton Oil Kings. Phair made one appearance with the Blazers this season, allowing three goals on sixteen shots.

Phair played in 19 games with the Red Wings last season. He finished the season with a GAA of 2.47 and two shutouts. He combined with Jack Burgart to lead the team to the lowest goals against in franchise history.

“We have the luxury of having four good goalies it looks like, possibly by the end of the week here,” Red Wings head coach Wes Rudy said after practice Tuesday. With the four netminders on roster, it is expected there could be some moves made in the coming days. That decision will be up to general manager Tanner McCall.
