Since 1971 only one other goalie has been able to achieve 10 career regular season shutouts and that was Taylor Nelson, of the 2007-08 Humboldt Broncos. On a night where AJ Whiffen and team mate Drew George were honoured with SJHL Player of the Month awards for their play in January, Whiffen once again showed the fans at CPP why he won Goalie of Month for both December and January. In a 30 save shut out against the Kindersley Klippers, AJ got his tenth career regular season shut out. In his rookie season, AJ had a total of six shutouts, earning him SJHL Rookie of the Year. Last year he added another one to that total. This year, even thought AJ has been rotating games with Tanner Erickson, he recorded his third shut out last night giving him a total of ten so far with still two weeks remaining in the regulasr season. Two other SJHL goalies are hot on the heels of AJ. Both Andrew Bodnarchuk of the Humboldt Broncos and Matt Weninger of the Flin Flon Bombers have nine shutouts.
